Brendan R. Burke

Brendan Burke is an associate at Skelton Moore, where he focuses on insurance defense, commercial litigation, and product liability matters. He represents insurers, manufacturers, and businesses in civil litigation throughout Missouri and Illinois.

Brendan brings a diverse legal background spanning both litigation and in-house practice. He previously served as corporate counsel for a global architecture and engineering firm, where he drafted and negotiated complex commercial agreements, managed data privacy compliance across international operations, and advised senior leadership on risk management, insurance, and regulatory matters. Before transitioning to in-house work, he spent several years in private practice handling a wide range of litigation matters, including commercial disputes, insurance coverage, civil rights defense, and personal injury.

Brendan holds certifications in U.S. and European data privacy law (CIPP/US and CIPP/E) and is a LEED Green Associate. He completed executive education in Negotiation and Leadership through the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School in 2024.

Brendan earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2018, where he concentrated in International and Comparative Law and received an Academic Excellence Award in Conflicts of Law. He holds a B.A. in English, magna cum laude, from Villanova University, with minors in Philosophy, Political Science, and Japanese.

Outside of his practice, Brendan is committed to pro bono and community service. He volunteers with The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program, assists veterans through the Missouri Veterans Commission Estate Planning Clinics, and participates in the annual 9/11 Day of Service.
