Tara English

Tara English is an associate at Skelton Moore, where she focuses on civil litigation defense, insurance defense, and appellate advocacy. She represents insurers, businesses, and property owners in complex litigation matters throughout Illinois, with particular strength in premises liability, vehicular negligence, and insurance coverage disputes.

With nearly three decades of litigation experience, Tara brings a meticulous, research-driven approach to legal writing and case strategy. She has successfully handled complex matters at both the trial and appellate levels, earning a strong reputation for crafting persuasive legal arguments and achieving favorable outcomes.

Tara has tried multiple personal injury defense cases in Madison County, securing favorable verdicts in three consecutive trials. Her appellate practice includes successful arguments before the Fourth and Fifth District Illinois Appellate Courts, and she has served as counsel of record in several reported decisions addressing underinsured motorist coverage, premises liability, workers’ compensation, and civil procedure.

Before joining Skelton Moore, Tara practiced with a regional Illinois defense firm, where she served as both associate and of counsel. During law school, she interned with the United States Attorney’s Offices for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office, gaining foundational experience in courtroom dynamics and case strategy.

A Highland, Illinois native, Tara earned her J.D. and is admitted to practice in Illinois state and federal courts.
